| Tom E. Rousey was born on July 3, 1942 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma in a house on a hill. This house was later destroyed by a tornado. They moved to Purcell, Oklahoma. There his dad worked in his own mechanic shop. Tom grew up believing that he was a Cherokee, but research reveals that he is actually Chickasaw. Tom enlisted in the Navy in 1959. He served his first tour of duty on the U.S. Klondike in San Diego with his brother, Don. After his time on the ship, he transferred to Service School Command on Treasure Island, California to spend time in Radar Training. He continued in the Navy for a total of 20 years, retiring in 1978. Afterwards, he worked as a fiber optic cable installer with GTE/Sprint for 8 years. Then in 1988 he had to have surgury to remove one kidney. This was a result of Cancer. Then in 1990 he underwent (six) bypass surgury. He has not been employed since. 1990 was the year that Tom moved to Florida. While there, he organized the first "CMSA" in that state. It is teh "Orange Blossom Pasco County" group. Then in 2003 he moved to Duncan, OK. While there he organized the Southwest Chapter of the Country Music Singers Association of Oklahoma/ This chapter is still going strong and growing. Tom has four sisters and three brothers. One sister has died. He also has 3 children... A son named Tommy born in 1965, another son named Michael born in 1967, and a daughter named Crystal born in 1975. He also has 7 grandchildren. Tom has suffered many health related issues while here in Oklahoma, but he is a living miracle! He simply refuses to give up, and continues to bless his friends and others in his presense. He is a regular on our Gospel Praise shows, and is impressive to listen to. His singing abilities have won him many awards, here and in Pigeon Forge, TN. Tom is quite active in the CMSA. He has been known to host the open mic night, even while on Oxygen! Watch for Tom's name in the show schedule pages on this website, and make plans to hear him on a show soon.
